Dunvegan Village; Isle of Skye (2024)
Easter has arrived this weekend giving us blue skies, a fresh breeze in addition to the colours of spring. Clock move forward so our night and day are change. It seems only yesterday we enjoyed some skye lights - amazing aurora. Best location being just 10mins from Skye Lodge c/o Glendale Skye Auroras. See the App: https://aurora-alerts.uk/ Beware this in mind for next winter.
Dunvegan Village (Dun Bheagain - Scots Gaelic) does not disappoint. We are a quiet yet thriving community and definitely worthy of consideration due to number of local restaurants, accommodation providers, local walks and our landmarks which are quite wonderful. As the centre of all or rather a focal point for locals and visitors on the westerly coast of Isle of Skye. Dunvegan is hometown of Celtic Fusion Band ‘ Peatbog Faeries’ the birthplace of trial cyclist ‘Danny MacAskill known for his truly awesome stunts and videos that entertain. ‘The Ridge’ is worth watching. Locally our landmark Castle - yes The Dunvegan Castle the seat for the chief of Clan Macleod stands proud and sets the scene for our local calendar.
