Directions

  • From the Skye Lodge guesthouse leave the driveway going up the hill towards the main road. Go all the way through Dunvegan village staying on the coastal road until you reach the carpark for Dunvegan castle on your right.

  • Enter the car park, past the castle shop, do not go up to the higher section but go towards the river. The gate to the path is on the left side of the river; note there may be cars parked in front of it making it harder to see.

  • The path from here is wide and obvious to follow, but may become boggy in places. You can walk as far as you like. The complete path will bring you out on the A850 around 5.5 km away from Dunvegan, with the only option being to walk along the road or retrace your steps.

Rare open views of Skye
