The route map
Leave the Skye Lodge guesthouse driveway, turning right over the cattle grid and bridge to the bottom of the hill on corner. To follow the coast, go down the small grassy slope to the left of the benches next to the gate which goes to the caravan park. The verge is grassy so this is passible even at high tide, but lower tide allows for more rock picking.
Take care not to slip on the rocks, pick your way around past the campsite. There are a couple of higher viewpoints to soak in the atmosphere. After a larger house, you can rejoin the road just before the stream then walk back on the single-track road or retrace your steps along the coast to the Skye Lodge.
There are often sheep grazing the seaweed along the shore and a possibility of seeing the local otter. The loch hosts a seal colony of over 500 individuals so there is a high chance you will see a friendly head pop up watching you back.
