The water front dominates dunvegan village and main street which runs parrell to Loch Dunvegan. This walk shows you the points of access to the waterfront, ideal for bird and seal watching or to see the working Dunvegan harbor.
From Skye Lodge turn left out of the driveway then left to walk through Dunvegan village. The first and most obvious point is the car park and recycling point. Go down the skinny steps on the left and have a look for herons, oyster catchers and cormorants. Seals are often watching you back.
Continue along the street past the Tables Guest House and Alpaca Company, go down the steps next to the playpark and through the gate to access the community pier. You might see seals playing in the water or basking on the rocks opposite or further to your right.
Walking further out of the village there is a gate and gap in the fence where you can cross the field and come out between the jetty and the harbour for a less visited viewing spot.
The main fishing center is down the road a little further turn down the road next to the St. Kilda shop. Watch the boats coming in with their catch.
